Why this goal is important
Red Wing High School’s 2014 graduation rate of 93.9% is well above the state average of 81.2%. Three-quarters of our high school graduates enroll in further education beyond high school. Current data indicates that many of our high school graduates are not successful in continuing their education beyond the first year of college or career training. We must make sure more of our high school students are ready to pursue their educational and career goals.
What we’re working on now:
- Making sure high school students have post-secondary career plans.
- Increasing the number of students who complete the Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) and pursue scholarships.
- Providing education for parents on how they can be prepared to send their high school graduate onto post-secondary education or training as their son or daughter increases their knowledge through the Ramp-Up to Readiness program offered in the high school.
