An EHJ scoping committee is pulling together data from the state and our school district about reading and math proficiency. We want our students performing at least two percent above the state averages.

Minnesota students in third through eighth grade take the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs) in reading and math. According to the Minnesota Department of Education, 57.2% of third grade students statewide were proficient with reading while 61.1% of third graders in the Red Wing School District were proficient.

You can find 2013 comparisons for both reading and math scores for metro and non-metro school districts in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
